Lobos Picked 18th In Lone Star Conference Poll

ALPINE, Texas – Angelo State has been picked first in the 2025 Lone Star Conference Preseason Volleyball Poll.

The Rams received 30 first place votes and 933 points to edge out West Texas A&M by 14 points.  Rounding out the Top five was UT Tyler (3rd – 859 points), Dallas Baptist (4th – 803 points) and Texas Women's (5th – 738 points).

Sul Ross State was picked 18th with 107 points.

The Lobos look to use 13 returning players to drive the team forward.  Leading the way are senior Sarah Chavez, sophomore Anna Kasper and junior Eliana Mata.

Chavez led the team in hitting percentage while finishing among the top three in total blocks.  Kasper was a very consistent blocker having at least one block in at but six matches.  Mata was the quarterback of the squad leading the team in assists and also ranked among the top 10 in the LSC for service aces.
