Lewis Coates was selected to the Lone Star Conference All-Academic team.
Coates, a midfielder and team captain from Harrogate, North Yorkshire, England, transferred from Division II St. Mary's.
He joins 11 other student-athletes on the all-academic team, which is selected by vote of the LSC sports information directors.
In order to eligible for the honor, individuals must maintain a 3.30 cumulative grade-point average and have reached sophomore athletic eligibility.
Coates, sporting a 3.95 GPA, made 16 starts for the Lobos, scoring three goals and tallying one assist. He also finished with seven points and 31 shot attempts.
He ranked second on the team in goals scored. Coates found the back of the net against South Dakota Mines, University of St. Thomas and Lubbock Christian.
The 3-1 win over South Dakota marked the first victory over a Division II opponent while the 2-0 shutout of St. Thomas was the first home-opening win in program history.
Sul Ross State made history by recording the most wins in school history (6).
Coates had previously been honored by the LSC for his academic work as he made the LSC Spring Commissioners Honor Roll (2024), LSC Fall Commissioners Honor Roll (2023), LSC Spring Commissioners Honor Roll (2023) and LSC Fall Commissioners Honor Roll (2022).
