Lady Lobos Add Two More to the Pack

Alpine, Texas – The Sul Ross State University Women's Basketball program continued adding to its 2026 recruiting class with the signings of Anaya Williams and Janeen Lashley-Hill. The pair of incoming student-athletes each bring strong athletic backgrounds, leadership experience, and academic accomplishments to the Lady Lobos program.

Williams joins the Lady Lobos from Judson High School after helping lead her program to the UIL 6A Regional Tournament and regional finals appearance. Williams averaged 14.4 points and 5.2 rebounds per game while earning First Team All-District honors and a selection to the All-Star Game in San Antonio. In addition to basketball, Williams also competed in track and field where she earned First Team All-District recognition in relay events. Academically, Williams received three First Team Academic All-District honors while maintaining a 4.0 GPA.

Lashley-Hill continues her academic and basketball career at Sul Ross State after averaging six points, seven rebounds, and two blocks per game during her senior season. She earned Second Team All-District and Academic All-District honors while helping her team capture the 12-6A District Championship. Lashley-Hill was also selected as a 2026 Central Texas All-Star and has been active off the court as an FFA Ambassador and member of both National Honor Society and Science National Honor Society.

Sul Ross State University Women's Basketball Head Coach EJ Smith said, "I am thrilled about the addition of Janeen, especially because she has the ability to play both inside and on the perimeter. She is an athlete who will give 100 percent on and off the court. Our current players are excited about another addition to the program, and we look forward to working with Janeen and helping her continue to grow both on and off the floor alongside the rest of our 2026-27 signing class."
