Lady Lobos Add Trio of Talent to 2026 Signing Class

Alpine, Texas – Sul Ross State University Women's Basketball and head coach EJ Lee Smith announced the addition of three student-athletes to the 2026 signing class with the signing of Kendall Carlock, Leilah Rodriguez, and Zariana Santos. The newest Lady Lobos additions bring a combination of experience, leadership, academics, and versatility to the program as Sul Ross continues building toward the future.

Carlock joins the Lady Lobos after spending two seasons at Western Texas College, where she earned NJCAA Region 5 First Team All-Academic honors, NJCAA Region 5 Honorable Mention All-Conference recognition, and NJCAA Academic Honors. A strong defensive presence and rebounder, Carlock finished second all-time in defensive rebounds and minutes played while also ranking among the top performers in rebounds, steals, and total points scored during her high school career. Her experience and physical style of play are expected to make an immediate impact for the Lady Lobos.

Rodriguez, a guard from Tivy High School, brings leadership and consistency after serving as a team captain and earning Academic All-District honors throughout her high school career. Rodriguez was named a unanimous First Team All-District selection during her senior season while also receiving TGCA and THSCA Academic All-State honors. She averaged 14.2 points, 3.8 rebounds, and 3.4 assists per game during her senior campaign while shooting 80% from the free throw line and 35% from beyond the arc. Her ability to handle the basketball, distribute, and score adds depth to the Lady Lobos backcourt.

Santos arrives at Sul Ross State from Denton High School after a standout senior season where she averaged 7.5 points and 3.5 rebounds per game while contributing on both ends of the floor. Santos earned Second Team All-District (6-5A) and Second Team Denton Record-Chronicle honors while also being recognized for her academic success with Academic All-District honors. She was additionally named Offensive Player of the Year and received a Lady Bronco award during her high school career.
