Roper Earns Lone Star Conference Honors

ALPINE, Texas – Junior Camren Roper has been named the Lone Star Conference Men's Basketball Defensive Player of the Week for Week 4.  He is the second player, male or female, to earn a LSC weekly basketball award and the first to receive defensive honors.

Roper had five points, nine rebounds, four assists and two steals in a 60-47 win over Angelo State (Nov. 20).  It was the first loss of the season for ASU and the Lobos first win over the Rams in program history.

Roper came back with four points, eight rebounds and four assists as SRSU beat UT Permian Basin 67-61 (Nov. 22).  He sealed the seal by sinking two free throws with five seconds left.  It was the first victory over the Falcons since Nov. 23, 2010.

For the week, Roper averaged 4.5 points, 8.5 rebounds, four assists and 1.5 steals per game.  Of Roper's 17 total rebounds, all but two were defensive.
