Midway through his second season in a Sul Ross uniform, sophomore forward
B.J. Hollis is looking to continue his hot shooting streak entering this weekend's conference game against visiting Howard Payne.
The Brady, Texas native was on fire scoring a season and career-best 21 points to lead the Lobos to an 80-58 ASC victory over U.T. Tyler at the Gallego Center last Saturday.
Hollis knocked down 5-of-11 shots from beyond the arc while shooting 2-for-2 at the free throw line and added three assists and a steal in the win over the Patriots.
In the first half alone, Hollis scored 14 points with nine of those coming from beyond the arc in the first eight minutes of the game.
Hollis collected 12 points two nights earlier in a 76-63 conference home victory over University of the Ozarks.
Hollis and his Lobo teammates look to extend their winning streak to 10 heading into Saturday's home game against ASC foe Howard Payne University.
Sul Ross currently has the fifth longest winning streak in the nation in NCAA Division III and the 18
th longest win streak in all three NCAA Divisions.
After 15 games, the Lobos rank second in the ASC in assists with 264 (17.6 apg).
At first place in the ASC West Division, Sul Ross sports an 11-4 overall mark including a 6-1 record in conference competition.
Howard Payne sits in fourth place in the Conference West at 7-8 and 3-4.
