HOBBS, New Mexico- University of the Southwest defeated Sul Ross State in an 88-80 non-conference outing Monday night in Hobbs.

Caleb Thomasson collected his third straight double double with a team-high 21 points and 14 rebounds.

C.J. Ross, Tristen Licon and Jola Otubu posted double figures with 17, 16 and 14 points respectively.

Ross led the team with six assists

The Lobos hit 30-of-68 shots from the floor at 46 percent including 11-of-28 from beyond the arc at 39 percent.

Sul Ross drops to 2-4 on the season while Southwest improves to 2-7.

The Lobos return to ASC play against visiting LeTourneau and East Texas Baptist next Saturday and Monday.
