With two exhibitions against Division I opponents behind them, the Sul Ross Lady Lobo basketball team enters its season-opening game week in a pair of road matches against Texas Lutheran and Schreiner this Saturday and Sunday.
The Bulldogs are coming off an 86-57 exhibition loss at Texas A&M Corpus Christi on November 10 and will take on former ASC opponent Mary Hardin-Baylor in Belton on Thursday before their Saturday contest against Sul Ross.
Texas Lutheran finished last season at 21-6 including 12-2 mark in the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference.
Meanwhile, Schreiner dropped a 91-47 exhibition against Division I Abilene Christian University last Friday and will take on Concordia in a midweek, non-conference game in Austin.
The Mountaineers will then host the Tornados in a rematch Saturday before entertaining the Lady Lobos on Sunday.
Schreiner finished the 2016-17 run at 11-16 and 8-6 in the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference.
Sul Ross defeated the Mountaineers, 61-50 last season at the Gallego Center.
The Lady Lobos are coming off a 10-16 overall mark last year including a 7-9 record in the ASC. Last season served as a milestone for Sul Ross as the Lady Lobos reached the ASC post season tournament for the first time in conference history.
