After a monstrous 10-game road series covering November and December the Lady Lobo basketball team (3-6, 0-2) returns to the Gallego Center this Saturday for ASC competition against East Division Louisiana College.

But first, Sul Ross will make a quick stop in Hobbs for action against NAIA University of the Southwest in midweek competition Wednesday.

Wednesday's tipoff is scheduled for 5:30 Mountain Time while Saturday's game against the Wildcats is slated for a 1:00 p.m. start.

RECAP

The Lady Lobos split a pair of nonconference games on the road last week in Dallas.

Mia Ochoa (Levelland/Whitharral) registered a team high 15 points to help lead the Sul Ross women's basketball team to a 71-67 come-from-behind victory over Dallas Christian College Thursday.

Sul Ross posted three other players in double figures as Kenya Mile (Tomball/Memorial), Jonette Jackson (Killeen/Shoemaker) and Ariel Holiday (Houston/Bellaire) finished with 13, 12 and 10 points respectively.

As a team the Lady Lobos shot 24-52 from the floor at 46 percent while converting seven of 21 shots from outside the arc at 33 percent.

Miles finished with 18 points and 11 rebounds as the Sul Ross dropped a 59-55 road decision to host University of Dallas Saturday.

As a team, the Lady Lobos shot 22-72 from the floor at 31 percent and was six of seven from the free throw line at 86 percent.

SCOUTING USW AND LC

At 3-7 University of the Southwest will attempt to regroup Wednesday following a 54-51 setback at Jarvis Christian over the weekend.

The Mustangs are currently on a four-game losing streak and sit at 0-4 in the Red River Athletic Conference.

Anitria Flowers leads the team in scoring averaging 16.9 pointer per game. Cassandra Smith leads rebounders at 11 boards per contest.

USW has been outscored by their opponents 680-638 for the season.

Louisiana College (0-6, 0-2) and  Sul Ross both sit in last place in their respective divisions. Unlike the Lady Lobos the Wildcats have yet to strike the "W" column.

LC fell at East Texas Baptist last weekend by a score of 78-68. Kortney Kling led Wildcat scorers with 16 points in the effort while Brooke Jones supplied a team high nine rebounds.

RyDeja McQuarn and Kling are leading scorers for Louisiana College averaging 12.8 and 10.7 points respectively.

MILEAGE FOR MILES

Kenya Miles continues to lead the team in scoring with a 12.1 points per game average. Her 6.2 rebounds per game average is also good for a team high as the Tomball native put up a season high 18 points and 11 boards in the loss to University of Dallas. It was Miles career first double double.

UPCOMING

Sul Ross will make their longest road trip this season as the Lady Lobos pay a visit to Clarksville, Ark. to battle University of the Ozarks in a clash between East and West Divisions on January 2.

Sully will then return to the Lone Star State for a January 4 conference bout against U.T. Dallas in Richardson.
