Lobos Play Tough Throughout Season

ALPINE, Texas – It was a new start for the 2026 Sul Ross State University softball team. The Lobos had one Lone Star Conference ranking, an LSC Player of the Week with 20 additions to the record book and five school records.

The main new addition was Lacey Middlebrooks as the head coach. It was a tough schedule with six LSC teams qualifying for NCAA regionals: Angelo State, Oklahoma Christian (Super Regionals), Saint Mary's (Texas), Texas A&M Kingsville, UT Tyler and West Texas A&M (Third - College World Series). In addition, UC Colorado Springs qualified for its conference tournament and Our Lady of the Lake finished third at the NAIA World Series.

Jaclyn Pate was named LSC Freshman of the Week for Week 9. She is the first player in program history to earn Lone Star honors.

Addison Castilleja threw a no-hitter against Texas A&M International (Apr. 1). It was only the second one in program history.
