Lobos See Hilltoppers Squeeze By

ALPINE, Texas – The Sul Ross State University softball team (5-31 Lone Star Conference, 7-36) lost 5-0 and 2-0 to St. Edward's (12-26 LSC, 15-34), Sunday afternoon at Lobo Softball Field.

Game-1
St. Edward's used timely hitting and strong defensive to hold Sul Ross State in check.

For Sul Ross State, freshman Jaclyn Pate (2-14) gave up nine hits, five runs with three earned, walked three and struck out four in seven innings.

For St. Edward's, Haley Carmona (4-10) threw a one-hitter with five walks and four strikeouts over seven innings.

Game-2
In the night cap, the Lobos had a runner on base in each of the first two innings.  The Hilltoppers held them off, then scored two runs in the fourth inning to take control.

For Sul Ross State, sophomore Janelle Leanos (2-6) gave up six hits, two runs, walked three and struck out three in seven innings.

For St. Edward's, Kylen Padgett (10-14) threw a one-hitter with one walk and four strikeouts over seven innings.
