New Look Lobos Head To New Mexico

ALPINE, Texas – It's a new direction as the Sul Ross State University softball team opens the 2026 season. The Lobos will be in Los Lunas, N.M. for the South Central Regional Crossover.

Lacey Middlebrooks is the first new head coach for the Lobos since 2015. She has a team with good experience as 14 players return.

Offensively, the Lobos have three of the top five hitters back. Leading the way is Lone Star Conference Player to Watch - Elizabeth Clemente (four doubles, eight runs, 11 RBI's, .281 BA). In addition, Jenna Leanos (assists, walks) and Alexandra Ramos (walks) set single-season school records last season.

In the circle, SRSU looks to Lone Star Conference Pitcher to Watch Larryn Rooks (16 appearances) to lead the way.
