2024-25 Winter Season In Review

ALPINE, Texas – It was a solid effort for Sul Ross State University during the 2024-25 basketball seasons.  The Lobos had a Lone Star Conference (LSC) Player of the Week, two All-Lone Star Conference selections, 27 additions to the record book with eight school records and 20 LSC Commissioner's Honor Roll recipients.
 
MEN'S BASKETBALL
  • Ethan Yancy – All-LSC Honorable Mention
  • Ethan Yancy set school records with 19 free throw attempts and 44 points vs. Eastern New Mexico enroute to being named Lone Star Offensive Player of the Week for Jan. 20 – first male or female player in school history to earn this accolade
  • Eight Lone Star Conference Commissioner's Honor Roll selections
  • Set four team records in a 129-23 win over Navajo Tech (Nov. 12)
  • Myles Amason (Blocks – 1.30 per game) and Ethan Yancy (Points – 18.16 per game) ranked second in the LSC.
WOMEN'S BASKETBALL
  • Victoria Aguayo – All-LSC Honorable Mention
  • The Lobos beat Western New Mexico 83-65 (Nov. 23) in their Lone Star debut
  • Cheyanne Bonilla was third in the Lone Star Conference with 2.08 steals per game
  • 12 Lone Star Conference Commissioner's Honor Roll selections
  • Cheyanne Bonilla became just the second player in school history to have 10+ assists in a game twice
  • Victoria Aguayo is ranked third in career steals (163) with one season to go
