Spring Season Wrap-Up

ALPINE, Texas – Sul Ross State University finished the spring season with a bang.  The Lobos had two All-Lone Star Conference (LSC) selections, 33 additions to the record book with 10 school records and 69 LSC Commissioner's Honor Roll recipients.
 
BASEBALL
  • First LSC win was 6-2 over St. Mary's (Feb. 1)
  • 39 Lone Star Conference Commissioner's Honor Roll selections
  • Adan Velasquez stole five bases vs. UT Tyler (Apr. 13) to set the school record
  • SRSU set team records for hit by pitch (53) and stolen bases (91 – breaking the record that had stood for 26 years
SOFTBALL
  • Knocked off NCAA Regional Qualifier Lubbock Christian 8-5 (Mar. 28)
  • Beat UT Permian Basin 6-5 and 13-4 (Apr. 4) for the first Lone Star sweep
  • 22 Lone Star Conference Commissioner's Honor Roll selections
  • Lobos set team records for assists (439), at-bats (1230) and putouts (925)
  • Jenna Leanos set single-season school record for assists (104) and walks (17)
  • School records also came from Cierra Avila (at-bats – 141) and Alexandra Ramos (walks - 17)
MEN'S TENNIS
  • Gavin Leon - All-LSC Sportsmanship
  • Four Lone Star Conference Commissioner's Honor Roll selections
WOMEN'S TENNIS
  • Brianna Cruz – All-LSC Sportsmanship
  • Four Lone Star Conference Commissioner's Honor Roll selections
