Sul Ross State Advances To Third Year In NCAA Membership Process

ALPINE, Texas - The Division II Membership Committee has advanced Sul Ross State University in its provisional membership process.
 
"I am pleased with the progress we are making and thankful to all who have worked tirelessly to ensure a smooth transition" said Vice-President of Intercollegiate Athletics Amanda Workman.
 
Sul Ross State started the process early in 2023.  Year one saw the NCAA visit the campus in February 2024 to assess SRSU's readiness in areas such as institutional control, sports programs, student wellbeing, staffing, compliance monitoring, recruiting, eligibility, rules education, financial aid, self-reporting and procedures.
 
Year two (2024-25) saw the Lobos accepted into the Lone Star Conference.  The student-athletes became eligible for conference, regional and national athletic and academic honors.
