Lone Star Conference Pre-Season Polls Women's Basketball

ALPINE, Texas – The Lone Star Conference (LSC) has announced its 2025 Women's Basketball Preseason Poll, along with the Preseason Player of the Year and Players to Watch list ahead of the upcoming season.

Texas Woman's University leads the preseason rankings after earning 20 first-place votes and 810 total points, followed by Lubbock Christian in second and UT Tyler in third. West Texas A&M, Eastern New Mexico, and Angelo State round out the top six, while Texas A&M-Kingsville, UT Permian Basin, and Midwestern State sit in the middle of the standings. Sul Ross State was picked 17th as the Lady Lobos continue to build their program in their second season competing in the LSC. Senior guard Victoria Aguayo, a biology major from El Paso, Texas, was named to the league's Players to Watch list, recognizing her leadership, defensive presence, and scoring ability heading into her final season. West Texas A&M's Kyla Kane earned the honor of LSC Preseason Player of the Year.

Under head coach E.J. Lee Smith, the Lady Lobos look to continue their growth and competitiveness within one of the strongest conferences in NCAA Division II women's basketball. Sul Ross State opens the 2025 season at home on November 15 at 1 p.m. against Northern New Mexico College inside the Gallego Center in Alpine, Texas.
