Sul Ross State freshman guard
Morgan Peralez (Weslaco, Texas) led the Lobos with 32 points and 17 rebounds over a pair of wins last week. She led the Lobos with 18 points in a 77-55 win over Schreiner. She also grabbed eight rebounds and had two assists, three blocks and steals. Peralez tallied 14 points, nine rebounds, one assist, one block, and one steal in a 62-54 win over St. Thomas.
OTHER TOP PERFORMANCES
Hardin-Simmons senior guard Paris Kiser (Burnet, Texas) led the Cowgirls in scoring with 23 points and nine rebounds in a victory over Trinity (Texas). She shot 56 percent from the field and 62 percent from behind the arc. Eleven of her points came in the fourth quarter and in overtime to secure the win for the Cowgirls.
UT-Dallas junior guard Trystan Clark (Burleson, Texas) averaged 13.5 points and 5.5 rebounds per game as they picked up a pair of wins and moved to 5-1 on the season. She opened the week with 11 points and six rebounds in Monday's 89-56 victory over Southwestern (Texas). Clark followed with 16 points, five boards, one assist, one block and two steals in Saturday's road victory at Dallas.
Howard Payne freshman guard Taysie Trejo (Midlothian, Texas) was the offensive spark for a Lady Jacket team that finished 2-2 this past week. Trejo averaged 14.8 points an outing including a 22-point performance versus Schreiner where she also recorded four rebounds and three steals. She had a game-high 18 points in a hard-fought 59-54 win over Austin College. Trejo was also able to knock down 11 treys throughout the week shooting 36.7 percent from three-point land.
East Texas Baptist freshman guard Kadia Ward (Duncanville, Texas) almost averaged a double-double with 9.0 points per game and 9.5 rebounds per game in two regional games in California. She posted her first career double-double with 11 points and 12 rebounds vs. CMS. She also had seven points and seven rebounds vs. Pomona-Pitzer. She collected three steals vs. CMS with three assists.
LeTourneau sophomore guard Kylie Weeks (Houston, Texas) had a career-high 20 points as she went 5 of 12 from the field and 8 of 10 at the line in an overtime loss to Dallas. She totaled a game-high 41 minutes in the loss.
Ozarks senior forward Amanda Turpin (Cypress, Texas) averaged 18 points and 7.5 rebounds while hitting 4 of 7 from the three-point line over two games for the Eagles. Turpin also averaged 3.0 steals, 2.0 blocks and 4.0 assists.
