Sul Ross State University Softball and Volleyball Coach
Troy Canaba has announced he will be working with USA Softball as Texas Camp Director for the High Performance Program.
"I am so excited to be part of USA Softball. It is truly an honor and I can't wait to get started," said Canaba.
The High Performance Program (HPP) identifies a pool of athletes that will train, compete, and represent USA Softball through domestic and international competition through evaluation, placement, training, and reevaluation each year.
Its goal is to provide an opportunity for all athletes to have a chance at competing for the USA Softball National Teams' Programs.
Canaba helped develop and design the program and will be in charge of organizing, running, and the selection process for the USA Softball HPP in West Texas.
"Having the chance to help select and develop the program for USA Softball has been an amazing experience," said Canaba. "I was so shocked that USA Softball, Scott Stone and USA Softball of Texas selected me to help move this program forward."
Canaba will also be in charge of organizing and developing the USA Camps for Texas and will run the camps for their USA Olympians alongside the USA Softball of Texas.
"I am so blessed that I get to represent USA Softball and Sul Ross State University during this time and at the same time help grow fast pitch softball in our nation and worldwide."
