Following a 1-1 road split last week, the Sul Ross Lady Lobo basketball team will set their sights on No.14 U.T. Dallas this Thursday in the American Southwest Conference and home opener.

Sul Ross enter this Thursday's home opener with an overall record of 2-2 following a 79-58 non conference victory at Schreiner University on Saturday. Sully finds itself in third place in the ASC West behind division leader Hardin-Simmons and Mary Hardin-Baylor who sit at 6-0 and 4-0 respectively.

In the win against the Mountaineers, freshman guard Kaylee Martinez posted a double double  points and 20 rebounds to lead the Lady Lobos.

Sully finished with three other players in double figures as Angalyn Latin and Chandre Nunez tallied 15 points each while Annie Lenoir sported 13 points.

Nunez, who was listed to the 2018-19 preseason watch list, currently ranks third in the ASC in scoring averaging 16.5 points per contest. She nailed down 29 points in a season-opening loss to NCAA Division II Angelo State University.

Her performance against the Belles earned her an American Southwest Conference West Player of the Week nod. She was 11-of-21 from the field and 5-of-8 from three-point range in the November 11 opener. She also had three rebounds and a pair of steals.

Nunez also ranks third in the league in three-point field goal percentage at .563 and has converted 9-of-16 from beyond the arc.

Martinez ranks fourth in the conference in rebounding with an 8.5 rebounds per game average. She also ranks seventh in the league in three-point percentage at .444 hitting 4-of-9 from three-point range.

As a team, the Lady Lobos lead the ASC in three-point percentage at .365 converting 35-of-96 from long range. Sully ranks second in steals with 58 averaging 14.5 steals per game. Sul Ross also leads the conference in offensive rebounds with 69 averaging 17.3 offensive boards per contest.

Meanwhile U.T. Dallas sits at 3-1 on the season and currently sits in third place in the Conference East Division behind division leader and undefeated East Texas Baptist and Louisiana College. The Tigers, this season's favorite to claim their second straight East Division Title, sport a record of 6-0 while the Wildcats sit at 3-1.

Highlights include comments from senior guard Angalyn Latin, junior guard Annie Lenoir and coach Katie Novak.
