In an era where winning is considered the only thing there is still much to be said about improvement and that does not always translate into immediate victory.

Consider the following:
  • The Lady Lobos' bout with East Division leader U.T. Tyler saw Sul Ross sport a slim halftime lead. A handful of scoring runs in the second half saw the Patriots go on to defeat Sully by a 71-55 decision.
  • In 2014-15, Sul Ross was leveled twice by UTT 95-45 and 88-42.
  • The Lady Lobos faced another buzz saw in the form of U.T. Dallas last season. Following a 70-41 road loss to the hands of the Comets Sul Ross went down again 60-25.
  • In 2015-16 the No. 25-ranked Comets escaped with a 72-69 win over Sul Ross.
  • For the second game in a row the Lady Lobos have fallen to a traditional ASC powerhouse in the form of the Hardin-Simmons Cowgirls in overtime. Sul Ross was defeated in two overtimes, 85-82 Saturday against HSU.
  • The Lady Lobos dropped a 73-71 overtime decision to the Cowgirls nearly a year ago at the Gallego Center and lost a 58-48 outing to HSU the last time both teams faced each other in Abilene back on Dec. 18, 2014.
  • The preceding season, Sully fell to Hardin-Simmons, 90-70.
  • There was no love lost at Louisiana College last season following an 89-39 trouncing of Sul Ross on Valentine's Day.
  • LC narrowly escaped with a 55-52 conference victory over Sul Ross on December 19.
  • East Texas Baptist put up 79-60 and 72-65 wins over SRSU in 2014-15.
  • Sul Ross turned the tables against the Tigers with a 68-61 victory nearly two weeks ago.
  • The Lady Lobos ended last season being outscored by their opponents by 440 points.
  • This season Sul Ross is being outscored by a 122-point margin, 1135-1013.

Sully (4-13, 1-6 ASC) will face two ASC opponents on the road this week as the Lady Lobos travel to Concordia and Mary Hardin-Baylor.

In 2013-14 Concordia defeated Sul Ross twice by scores of 87-53 and 75-68. Sully also dropped two games to UMHB, 106-79 and 106-81 that season.

Last year Sul Ross beat Concordia in the ASC opener, 49-48 but suffered a 61-50 setback in Austin. The Crusaders beat SRSU in 2014-15 by scores of 77-60 and 75-61.
