Lobos Face Eagles in Road Doubleheader

Edmond, Ok. — Sul Ross State University Baseball (5-43, LSC 5-43) opened its Lone Star Conference road series against Oklahoma Christian University (17-31, LSC 17-31) with a doubleheader today, falling in game one 3-1 and game two 5-17.

In game 1, Sul Ross was limited offensively, managing just one run on 7 hits in the contest while continuing to compete throughout the game. The Lobos kept it close defensively and on the mound, holding Oklahoma Christian to three runs. Max Wiggins, Alfonso Lopez, and Joseph Binder each recorded a double and continued to create scoring opportunities in the game. Joseph Binder double to deep center field to bring in Jayden Hernandez for the score.

In game 2, Cole Keppler and Brock Rogers led the offense. Keppler delivered a key double as a pitch hitter, driving in two RBIs, while Rogers went 1-for-3 with a run scored, RBI, and a walk, helping spark a late push for the Lobos in the final inning for the Lobos.

Lobos and Eagles will continue the Lone Star Conference Series into tomorrow Saturday April 25 with another doubleheader to start with the first game at 1 PM in Edmond, Oklahoma at Dobson Baseball Field.
