Lobos Face Hilltoppers in Austin

Austin, Texas – Sul Ross State University Baseball (1–19, 1–19 LSC) opened its four-game Lone Star Conference series against St. Edward's University (13–6, 13–6 LSC) Thursday afternoon at Lucian-Hamilton Field, dropping both games of the doubleheader.

In Game 1, the Lobos collected seven hits in a 12–5 contest. Jacob Binder led Sul Ross at the plate with a strong performance, going 3-for-3 with two home runs and three RBIs, while Leo Salas added two hits and two RBIs. Alfonso Lopez also contributed a hit as Sul Ross pushed across runs in the third, fourth, and sixth innings.

Game 2 saw the Lobos strike first in the opening inning when Max Wiggins drove in Joseph Binder with an RBI single. Wiggins finished with two hits and an RBI, while Joseph Binder added an RBI and reached base multiple times. Brock Rogers and Luke Garrett each collected hits as Sul Ross totaled four hits in the second game of the day.

The Lobos and Hilltoppers continue the four-game Lone Star Conference series Friday, March 6, with a doubleheader beginning at 11:30 a.m. in Austin, Texas.
