Lobos Battle Aggies in Doubleheader at Kokernot Field

Alpine, Texas — Sul Ross State University Baseball (3-30, LSC 3-30) continued its four-game Lone Star Conference series against Cameron University (12-20, LSC 12-20) with a Saturday doubleheader at Kokernot Field. The Aggies took both games over the Lobos, winning game one 11-2 and game two 23-9.

In game one, the Lobos were led offensively by Max Wiggins, who recorded two hits including a two-run home run to account for both Sul Ross runs. Leo Salas added a hit and crossed the plate, while Wiggins finished with a team-high two RBIs as Sul Ross looked to generate momentum at the plate.

In game two, Sul Ross showed strong offensive production early, putting up nine runs on 11 hits. Joseph Binder led the way with three hits and four RBIs, including a home run, while Leo Salas added three hits and scored twice. Max Wiggins also contributed with two hits and an RBI and has now extended his hitting streak to 14 games while reaching base safely in 17 consecutive games, as the Lobos continued to find rhythm offensively.

The Lobos and Aggies will conclude the four-game Lone Star Conference series on Sunday, March 29, with first pitch scheduled for 1 p.m. at Kokernot Field.
