Lobos Watch Eagles Soar Past

ALPINE, Texas – The Sul Ross State University softball team (1-17 Lone Star Conference, 3-22) lost 12-0 and 9-0 to #12 Oklahoma Christian University (17-3 LSC, 25-6), Friday afternoon at Lobo Softball Field.

Game-1
Sul Ross State had at least one runner on in each of the first three innings.  Oklahoma Christian managed to hold them off each time.  The Eagles sealed the game in the fourth inning.  

For Sul Ross State, junior Samantha Bustos had two hits.  Freshman Addison Castilleja (1-3) gave up 10 hits, 12 runs with seven earned, walked six and stuck out three in four innings.

For Oklahoma Christian, Jill Dickson (13-3) threw a two-hitter with two walks and four strikeouts in four innings.

Game-2
In the night cap, OC scored five runs in the first inning to effectively end the game.

For Sul Ross State, freshman Jaclyn Pate (0-8) gave up four hits, six runs, walked two and struck out two in 1.3 innings.

For Oklahoma Christian, McKenna Ingram (3-3) threw a two-hitter with three walks and three strikeouts in four innings.

Sul Ross State remains home, Saturday, Mar. 22 playing Cameron.  The doubleheader is scheduled to start at 12:00 p.m.
