Buffs Take Doubleheader from Lobos

Alpine, Texas – Sul Ross State University Baseball continued the four-game Lone Star Conference series Saturday at Kokernot Field with a doubleheader against the Buffs of West Texas A&M University. The Buffs took game two of the series 19–2 before following with a 7–4 win in game three.

In game two, Alfonso Lopez led the Lobos offensively going 3-for-3 at the plate and hitting a solo home run in the first inning. Juan Garcia also added a home run late in the contest while Leo Salas and Jayden Hernandez each recorded doubles as Sul Ross finished with eight hits in the game.

Game three saw the Lobos battle closer with the Buffs as Luke Garrett highlighted the offense with a two-run home run in the second inning and finished with three RBIs. Brock Rogers and Max Wiggins each added hits for Sul Ross, while Jayden Hernandez contributed a double as the Lobos pushed across four runs in the contest.

The Lobos and Buffs conclude the four-game Lone Star Conference series Sunday, Mar. 15 with first pitch scheduled for 12:00 PM at Kokernot Field in Alpine.
