Javelinas Take Doubleheader from Lobos at Kokernot Field

Alpine, Texas – Sul Ross State University Baseball (1–16, 1–16 LSC) continued its four-game Lone Star Conference series against Texas A&M University–Kingsville (11–6, 11–6 LSC) Saturday afternoon at Kokernot Field, dropping both games of the doubleheader.

In Game 2, the Lobos jumped out early with a three-run first inning highlighted by a two-run home run from Tucker Reavis and a solo blast by Leo Salas, but the Javelinas responded with sustained offense to secure a 15–6 win. Salas finished the game 3-for-4 with three RBIs, while Reavis added two hits and two RBIs. Alfonso Lopez and Cole Keppler also contributed on the basepaths as Sul Ross continued to apply pressure offensively throughout the contest.

Game 3 featured a strong pitching effort from Kingsville, but Sul Ross continued to battle late, scoring twice in the seventh inning. Juan Garcia powered the Lobos with a solo home run, while Leo Salas added an RBI single. Max Wiggins collected two hits in the finale, and Sul Ross totaled eight hits as the Lobos competed until the final out.

The series concludes Sunday, March 1, with Game 4 scheduled for a 1:00 p.m. first pitch at Kokernot Field.
