Lobos Close Series Against Rams

Alpine, Texas — The Sul Ross State University Baseball team (1–9, 1–9 LSC) closed its four-game Lone Star Conference series Sunday afternoon against No. 9-ranked San Angelo State University (7–3, 7–3 LSC) at Kokernot Field, falling 20–7 in the series finale.

The Lobos showed offensive resilience throughout the contest, finishing with seven runs on nine hits. Leo Salas and Alfonso Lopez each homered for Sul Ross, with Lopez going 2-for-2, scoring three runs, and drawing two walks. Jayden Hernandez drove in two runs, while Juan Garcia added an RBI double as the Lobos continued to apply pressure at the plate. On the mound, Kazuto Matsuda earned the start, with Sul Ross utilizing multiple arms out of the bullpen as the Lobos competed through seven innings against Rams.

Sul Ross State returns to the road next weekend for a four-game Lone Star Conference series against Texas A&M International University in Laredo, Texas.
