Dustdevils Sneak Past Lobos in Game One

Laredo, Texas – Sul Ross State University Baseball (1-10, LSC 1-10) opened a four-game Lone Star Conference series on the road Friday afternoon, falling 8-7 to Texas A&M International University (4-7, LSC 4-7) at Jorge Haynes Field.

The Lobos battled throughout the contest and held multiple leads before the Dustdevils walked it off in the bottom of the ninth to take game one of the series. Sul Ross was led offensively by Jayden Hernandez, who finished 2-for-5 with two RBIs, while Alfonso Lopez went 2-for-4 with an RBI as the Lobos totaled nine hits and seven runs in the tightly contested matchup.

The Lobos and Dustdevils continue the Lone Star Conference series Saturday, Feb. 21, with a doubleheader scheduled to begin at 12 p.m. at Jorge Haynes Field in Laredo, Texas.
