Lobos Bring The Fight To Lady Buffs

CANYON, Texas – It was a battle all the way as the Sul Ross State University volleyball team (0-9 LSC, 0-19) lost 3-0 (25-20, 25-21, 25-21) to West Texas A&M (5-3 LSC, 10-9), Saturday afternoon at WTAMU Fieldhouse "The Box".

In the first set, Sul Ross State and West Texas A&M went back-and-forth until 14-14.   Freshman Antyiahna Lang hammered the ball down the middle of the court.

That started a run of five straight points to put the Lobos up 19-14.  Down 20-17, the Lady Buffs scored the last eight points to take the set.

In the second set, the Lobos and WTAMU traded points virtually the whole way.  Freshman Ela Bas and junior Brianna Galvan stuffed the West Texas A&M hitter.

That put SRSU up 21-20.  The Lady Buffs got the next five points to win the set.

The third set was almost identical to the first two.  Lang fired the ball off the block to tie it at 13.  WTAMU went on a 6-1 run to effectively end the match.

For Sul Ross State, junior Libby Foster had nine kills and hit .364 with two block assists while junior McKenzie Hart had eight kills and hit .636.
