Lobos Clash With Eagles

EDMOND, Okla. – The Sul Ross State University volleyball team (0-10 LSC, 0-20) lost 3-0 (25-8, 25-14, 25-17) to Oklahoma Christian (5-4 LSC, 12-9), Friday night at the Eagles' Nest.

In the first set, Oklahoma Christian got off to a 6-2 lead and never looked back.

In the second set, the Eagles were up 10-4 before Sul Ross State fired back.  Junior Libby Foster drilled the ball down the middle of the court.

That started a 4-1 run to close to 11-8.  A 10-3 run by OCU effectively ended the set.

In the third set, Oklahoma Christian looked to be in control up 13-8.  The Lobos refused to quit and stormed back in.

Senior Katrin Hardardottir stuffed the Eagle hitter to cut gap to one, 14-13.  OCU scored five straight points to turn back SRSU.

For Sul Ross State, sophomore Jade Munoz had nine digs and freshman Madelyn Patterson had three block assists.

For Oklahoma Christian, Macey Nehring had 13 digs.

Sul Ross State stays in the Sooner state, Saturday, Oct. 17 playing Cameron.  The match is scheduled to start at 2:00 p.m.
