Lobos Shoot It Out With Patriots

DALLAS, Texas – The Sul Ross State University men's basketball team (0-6 Lone Star Conference, 2-9) lost 90-63 to Dallas Baptist (6-0 LSC, 12-4), Thursday night at the Burg Center.

For the first five minutes, Sul Ross State and Dallas Baptist played at a slow pace.  At the 14:55 mark, junior Tim Mikhailov rattled the building with a dunk off a fast break.

That made it 6-4, Patriots.  DBU went on a 16-2 run over the next six minutes to effectively seal the game.

The Lobos pulled down 22 defensive boards to just five offensive for DBU.

For Sul Ross State, junior Keagan Moncrief had 18 points and Mikhailov scored 12 points.  Junior Camren Roper had a strong game with 10 rebounds, nine assists and four steals.

For Dallas Baptist, Trevor Frank led five double-digit scorers with 14.

Sul Ross State remains on the road, Saturday, Jan. 10 taking on UT Tyler.  The game is scheduled to start at 3:00 p.m.
