Lone Star Conference Releases 2025 Preseason Women’s Soccer Poll

ALPINE, Texas – The Lone Star Conference (LSC) has announced its 2025 Preseason Women's Soccer Poll, with DBU earning the top spot as the favorite to win the league. The poll was determined by a vote of LSC head coaches, sports information directors, and media representatives, with teams receiving points based on their ranking in each ballot.

Defending conference champion DBU collected 29 first-place votes and 650 points, edging out Angelo State, who earned 13 first-place votes and 634 points, making the top two nearly inseparable in preseason projections. Texas Woman's University claimed third with one first-place vote and 556 points, while Midwestern State and St. Mary's rounded out the top five.

Players to Watch

Riley Stallings – Forward – Junior
A key offensive weapon, Stallings brings pace and scoring ability to the front line and is expected to lead the attack.

Sarah Anuskewicz – Center Back
A reliable defensive anchor, Anuskewicz provides stability and leadership to the back line.

Emmy Finlinson – Goalkeeper
With strong reflexes and command in the net, Finlinson will play a vital role in the Lobos' defensive efforts throughout the season.

For Sul Ross State, who received one first-place vote and 83 points, the 15th-place ranking serves as motivation in their final year of the NCAA Division II provisional period. The Lady Lobos look to surpass expectations as they continue building their program in the highly competitive LSC.
