Lobos Open Up Series With Patriots

TYLER, Texas – The Sul Ross State University baseball team (3-38 Lone Star Conference, 4-38) lost 11-0 to #7 UT Tyler (29-8 LSC, 30-9), Friday night at Irwin Field.

The Patriots scored seven runs over the first two innings to take control.

For Sul Ross State, senior Estevan Ortiz and fifth year player Primo Vasquez had two hits each.  Senior Ryan Sandoval (1-10) gave up 12 hits, 10 runs, walked two and struck out four in 5.7 innings.

For UT Tyler, Rawley Hector (6-1) gave up five hits and struck out 10 in five innings.

Sul Ross State remains on the road, Saturday, Apr. 12 taking on UT Tyler.  The doubleheader is scheduled to start at 3:00 p.m.
