Lobos Close Out Series Vs. Hilltoppers

ALPINE, Texas – The Sul Ross State University baseball team (2-22 Lone Star Conference, 2-22) lost 21-10 to #17 St. Edward's (18-6 LSC, 19-6), Sunday afternoon at Kokernot Field.

The Hilltoppers scored nine runs in the first inning to effectively end the contest.

For Sul Ross State, it was a home run derby.  The Lobos got homers from junior Joseph Binder, junior Corbin Montayne, sophomore Rene Ramos and junior Brock Rogers.  Freshman Alfonso Lopez stole two bases and pushed his hitting streak to 12 consecutive game.

For St. Edward's, Quinten Estrada (1-0) gave up two hits, three runs and walked two in one inning.

Sul Ross State hits the road, Friday, Mar. 14 taking on #23 West Texas A&M.  The game is scheduled to start at 4:00 p.m.
