Sul Ross State Closes Out Series With Greyhounds

ALPINE, Texas – The Sul Ross State University baseball team (2-30 Lone Star Conference, 2-30) lost 27-8 to Eastern New Mexico (16-12 LSC, 18-12), Sunday afternoon at Kokernot Field.

Eastern New Mexico scored eight runs in the first inning to take control.

For Sul Ross State, freshman Alfonso Lopez and fifth year player Primo Vasquez had two hits each.  Senior Jacob Salinas (0-6) gave up seven hits, eight runs, walked two and struck out one in 2/3rd of an inning.

For Eastern New Mexico, Adrian Rubio (3-1) gave up two hits, three runs with two earned, walked two and struck out four in two innings.

Sul Ross State hits the road, Tuesday, Mar. 25 to take on UT Permian Basin.  The game is scheduled to start at 2:00 p.m.
