Sul Ross State Sees The Aggies Move By

LAWTON, Ok. – Seniors Cam Clardy, Tyler Jackson and Ethan Yancy scored 20+ points as the Sul Ross State University men's basketball team (2-19 Lone Star Conference, 3-23) lost 102-6 to Cameron (-13 LSC, 11-16), Saturday afternoon at Aggie Gym.

For the first three plus minutes, Sul Ross State and Cameron were trading buckets.  Jackson hit a charity toss to tie the game at 7-7 at the 16:48 mark.

The Aggies went on a 13-2 run to lead 20-9 with 12:33 left.  The Lobos began to chip away and Yancy hit two free throws.  That cut the margin to 29-26 at the 6:03 mark.

Cameron held a six point lead after 20 minutes of actions.  SRSU continued to hang in the game.

Clardy hit a tough shot in the paint to make it 56-50 with 15:42 to go in the game.  The Aggies went on a 12-3 run to seal the game.

The Lobos held the Aggies to just 15.4% on three-pointers, it's lowest mark of the season.

For Sul Ross State, Jackson had 27 points and was 11-of-11 from the floor, Yanck had 26 points and Clardy had 21 points and three steals.  Jackson shot 100% from the floor, breaking the school record of .938% by Brayden Fry (Nov. 23, 2019).

For Cameron, Lavell Broadnex scored 41 points.

Sul Ross State closes out the season, Thursday, Feb. 27, at Western New Mexico.  The game is scheduled to start at 7:00 p.m., MT.
