Sul Ross State Watches Falcons Fly Away

ODESSA, Texas –The Sul Ross State University men's basketball team (2-13 Lone Star Conference, 3-17) lost 83-61 to The University of Texas Permian Basin (11-4 LSC, 15-6), Saturday afternoon at the Falcon Dome.

For the first six minutes, Sul Ross State and UT Permian Basin slugged it out.  Junior Deon Brown knocked one down from outer space.

That pulled the Lobos to 11-7 at the 13:56 mark.  The Falcons went on a 11-2 run to effectively seal the game.

For Sul Ross State, senior Cam Clardy had 21 points, two steals and shot 7-of-12 from the floor while senior Tyler Jackson scored 10 points on 5-of-10 shooting from the floor.

For UT Permian Basin, Alex Matthews had 27 points and eight rebounds.

Sul Ross State begins a two-week home stretch, Thursday Feb. 6, playing Midwestern State.  The game is scheduled to start at 7:30 p.m.
