Lobos Battle All Season Long

ALPINE, Texas – The Sul Ross State University volleyball team never stopped playing hard throughout the 2025 season.  The Lobos had an all-tournament selection and three additions to the record book.

It was tough schedule with two non-conference opponents qualifying for their conference tournaments; Fort Lewis and Hardin-Simmons.  Among Lone Star Conference teams, Angelo State, Lubbock Christian and West Texas A&M qualified for the NCAA Tournament.

Sul Ross State started the season with a bang beating Eastern New Mexico and Western New Mexico (Sept. 5).  It was the first 2-0 start since 2019 and the first wins ever over ENMU and WNMU.

During the season, junior Eliana Mata became just the sixth player to go over 1000 career assists.
