Game Recap: Men's Soccer |

Lobos Battle Strong Against Mustangs

WICHITA FALLS, Texas – It was a valiant effort as the Sul Ross State University men's soccer team (2-3-4 Lone Star Conference, 5-5-6) lost 2-0 to #9 Midwestern State (7-2 LSC, 11-3-3), Saturday afternoon at Stang Field. 

Midwestern State managed to get one in at the 18:15 mark.  With 14:29 to go in the first half, junior Jose Ramos blasted a shot that was blocked at the last minute.

At the 55:59 mark, freshman Sebastian Martinez was robbed of a goal by a great save.  The Mustangs scored an insurance goal with five minutes left.

Sul Ross State had four shots with two on goal and were called for four fouls.  Sophomore Benjamin Aviles had seven saves.

Midwestern State had 27 shots with 10 on goal, five corner kicks and were called for nine fouls.

Sul Ross State closes out the season, Wednesday, Nov. 5, against Lubbock Christian.  The game is scheduled to start at 1:00 p.m.
