Game Recap: Men's Soccer |

Lobos And Chaps Leave It All On The Pitch

ALPINE, Texas – It was 90 minutes of heart from both squads as the Sul Ross State University men's soccer team (2-3-5 Lone Star Conference, 5-5-7) battled Lubbock Christian (5-3-3 LSC, 6-7-4) to a 0-0 tie, Wednesday afternoon at Lobo Soccer Field.  This marks the first season in program history that the Lobos have finished at .500 or better.

Sul Ross State and Lubbock Christian played lockdown defense allowing only eight shots on goal combined.  In the second half, the goalkeeper for the Chaps made three great saves to keep the Lobos off the board.

Sul Ross State had 17 shots with five on goal, four corner kicks and were called for seven fouls.

Lubbock Christian had eight shots with three on goal, six corner kicks and were called for 13 fouls.

Head Coach Bailey Guffin
"Proud of all of our guys this season. Obviously want to go out with the goals we've been missing. Nine clean sheets is not something that happens often. It comes from our work without the ball, as frustrating as it is to not score, we will see the benefits of being this good defensively next Fall.  Thankful to our seniors that helped make our team what it is today. Grateful for an exceptional group of players who have done more than enough to show we are going in the right direction."

Sul Ross State has concluded the 2025 season.
