Lobos See Eagles Soar Past

ALPINE, Texas – The Sul Ross State University volleyball team (1-9 Lone Star Conference, 3-13) lost 3-0 (25-13, 25-17, 25-17) to Oklahoma Christian (5-4 LSC, 13-7), Thursday night at the Pete P. Gallego Center. 

In the first set, Oklahoma Christian got out to a 10-4 lead and never looked back. 

In the second set, the Eagles came out of the blocks on fire pulling ahead 14-4.  The Lobos threw up a furious rally.

Sophomore Anna Kasper blasted the ball down the line to end a 10-3 run.  That made it 17-14.  OCU scored the next five points to effectively end the set.

In the third set, the Lobos and Oklahoma Christian went back-and-forth until 12-9, Eagles.  OCU went on a 6-1 run to take control.

For Sul Ross State, sophomore Novah Carrasco had nine kills and senior Cassandra Espinoza had eight kills and hit .300.

For Oklahoma Christian, Camryn McGough had eight kills and seven total blocks.

Sul Ross State remains home, Saturday, Oct. 25, taking on Cameron.  The match is scheduled to start at 12:00 p.m.
