Game Recap: Men's Soccer |

Lobos Vacuum Up Dustdevils

LAREDO, Texas – Another school record was broken as the Sul Ross State University men's soccer team (2-0-1 Lone Star Conference, 5-2-3) beat Texas A&M International (0-3-1 LSC, 2-4-5), Saturday afternoon at Dustdevil Field.  This pushed the Lobos' unbeaten streak to eight games.

At the 17:15 mark, junior Jose Ramos fired the ball past the keeper to draw first blood.  Sophomore Sean Carlos Rivera added an insurance goal with less than 14 minutes left in the first half.

Sul Ross State had 13 shots with seven on goal, seven corner kicks and were called for 15 fouls.  Senior Isaac Poole (3-0) posted his third shutout of the season.  This was the sixth shutout for SRSU this season tying the record set last year.

Texas A&M International had nine shots with one on goal, three corner kicks and were called for 16 fouls.

Head Coach Bailey Guffin
"Happy to get a result in Laredo, was much needed after the draw with St. Edward's.  TAMIU can switch on and get a result especially at home, so this is a positive road trip for us. Congrats to Jose and Sean on their goals and another clean sheet for Isaac, which just shows how deep our team can really go. Ready for a really good Oklahoma Christian team on Wednesday."

Sul Ross State stays on the road, Wednesday, Oct. 15 playing Oklahoma Christian.  The game is scheduled to start at 8:00 p.m.
