ABILENE, Texas — Held to six hits, the Sul Ross State baseball team suffered an 8-2 loss to the McMurry University War Hawks on Friday night at Walt Driggers Field.
>> HOW IT HAPPENED:
The Lobos tied up the game at one-all on an RBI single to left by
Corbin Dube in the top of the second.
McMurry pushed across four runs on five hits in the bottom of the second to extend its lead to 5-1.
The War Hawks scored three more runs in the third on two hits.
Sul Ross State scored its final run in the top of the seventh after
Estevan Ortiz and Dube hit back-to-back singles with one out.
Alvaro Hernandez then drove in Ortiz with a sacrifice fly to right.

>> GAME NOTES:
- Dube went 3 for 4 with three singles and an RBI. This was his fourth multi-hit game of the season.
- Carsen Thor, Peyten Kennard and Ortiz all went 1 for 4 with a single.
- Gage Cobb threw a complete game with a season-best nine strikeouts. Cobb leads the Lobo pitching staff with 46 strikeouts.
