Gage Cobb became the first Sul Ross State pitcher this season to toss a complete-game that resulted in a win.
Cobb struck out a season-high nine batters to help lift the Lobos to a 4-1 victory over the University of Mary Hardin-Baylor Crusaders during Game 1.
Game 2 was nothing short of entertaining and competitive as it took 10 innings to decide the winner.
The Crusaders scored a run in the top of the 10th which proved to be the deciding factor in an 8-7 victory to split the doubleheader at Kokernot Field on Friday night.
>> GAME 1:
Cobb sat down three batters in the top of the first with three strikeouts.
The game was scoreless through three innings as Cobb tallied six strikeouts while he allowed just one hit during that span.
UMHB broke the ice in the top of the fourth by scoring on an error by the second baseman.
Sul Ross State answered back with two runs in the bottom half of the fourth as
Aaron Morales scored on a passed ball while
Peyten Kennard drove in
Carsen Thor with a sacrifice fly to right.
Primo Vasquez extended the Lobo lead to 3-1 with an RBI single through the left side during the bottom of the fifth that brought in
Alvaro Hernandez after his leadoff double.
Corbin Dube later hit an RBI single to right center in the bottom of the sixth that drove in Thor who led off the inning with a double.

- Cobb earned his first win of the season after he allowed six hits.
- Cobb surpassed his season-high mark of eight strikeouts tallied back on Feb. 16 against Southwestern University.
- This was Cobb's first outing in which he didn't allow a single earned run since the season opener on Feb. 2 against Texas Lutheran.
- Cobb leads the Lobo pitching staff with 62 strikeouts.

Hernandez led off the bottom of the third with a double to right center.
Estevan Ortiz later hit an RBI single through the left side to put the Lobos ahead 1-0.
The Crusaders tied up the score with a leadoff solo home run by Riley Bender in the top of the fourth.
UMHB added a pair of runs in the top of the fifth as Carson Riley hit a leadoff solo home run while Bender brought in a run with a fielder's choice to short.
A miscue by the Crusader shortstop allowed the Lobos to tie the game in the bottom half of the fifth.
The momentum went back to UMHB as it rallied for four runs on three hits in the top of the sixth to take a 7-3 lead.
Cameron Talburt highlighted the inning with a rare infield RBI double.
Brock Rodgers got the Lobos to within two runs with a two RBI single up the middle during the bottom of the sixth.
There were plenty of solid defensive plays from the Lobos, but the play that helped keep the game within reach happened in the top of the eighth when
Sterling Inman hit his cutoff, Ortiz, who then fired the ball to catcher Ricard Franco to end the inning on a 7-6-2 putout.
With three straight one-out singles in the bottom of the eighth, the Lobos filled up the bases.
Ortiz was able to score on a wild pitch while Dube drove in a run with a sacrifice fly to left that tied up the score at 7-7.
Kaden deBerardinis hit a leadoff double to left in the top of the 10th. Chris Perez moved the runner to third with a sac bunt.
Riley then followed up with another bunt that allowed a run to score.
