BROWNWOOD, Texas — On Friday afternoon, the Sul Ross State baseball team suffered a sweep during the twin bill against the Howard Payne Yellow Jackets by the scores of 4-1 and 8-2 at Don Shepard Park.

The Lobos were held to just four hits.
Corbin Dube drove in the lone run of the contest for the Lobos with an RBI single to right in the top of the first.
Howard Payne came back to tie the game in the bottom of the second with an RBI single.
The Yellow Jackets used a three-run bottom of the fifth to propel themselves to victory. The inning was highlighted by a two-run triple to right center by Seth Bowman.

Things started fairly promising for the Lobos as they took a 1-0 lead in the top of the third with an RBI single
Carsen Thor.
After being held scoreless for five-straight innings, Howard Payne tied up the game in the bottom of the sixth with an RBI single.
Over the next two innings, the Yellow Jackets scored a combined seven runs.
Sul Ross State managed to push across a run in the top of the eighth on an RBI single by Dube.

- Derek Rojo got the start, tossing 5.2 innings as he struck out a game-high six batters while he allowed four hits and one earned run.
- The Lobos used seven different pitchers.
- Dube went 2 for 4 with a single, double and an RBI. Dube is riding a nine-game hitting streak while batting .382.
- Franco and Christian Garibay each went 1 for 4 with a double.
- Thor finished 1 for 4 with a single and an RBI.
- Thor leads the squad with a .389 average, .595 slugging percentage, .439 on base percentage, 49 hits and 25 RBI.
- Brock Rodgers had a single to go 1 for 4.
