SEGUIN, Texas — In the series finale against the Texas Lutheran University Bulldogs, the Lobo baseball team tallied 10 hits, unfortunately they ended up dropping the contest, 20-7, on Sunday afternoon in seven innings at Katt-Isbel Field.
>> HOW IT HAPPENED:
The Lobos scored in the first inning as
Brock Rodgers led off the game with a double to center.
Aaron Morales then hit an RBI single.
Texas Lutheran took a 2-1 lead in the bottom half of the first on a two-RBI double.
The Bulldogs began to separate themselves when they got a grand slam in the second to spark a five-run inning.
Sul Ross State pushed across a run in the third on an RBI single by
Primo Vasquez.
Texas Lutheran responded by scoring four runs in the fourth to make the score 11-2.
The Lobos cut the deficit to five when they rallied for four runs in the sixth.
Carsen Thor hit a leadoff single while
Alvaro Hernandez and
Orlando Moreno both drew a pair of walks to load up the bases.
Ricardo Franco delivered an RBI single through the left side.
Hernandez later scored on a wild pitch and then Rodgers drove in a pair of runs with a single to left.

- Thor had a three-hit day going 3 for 4 with two singles and a double.
- Thor batted .583 during the series with seven hits.
- Rodgers finished 2 for 2 with a single, double, a stolen base and two RBI.
- Hernandez had a single and a double to go 2 for 3 with an RBI and a walk.
- Vasquez, Morales and Franco each went 1 for 4 with a single and an RBI.
