SEGUIN, Texas — The Sul Ross State baseball team dropped Game 2 to the Texas Lutheran University Bulldogs, 12-3, on Saturday night at Katt-Isbel Field.
>> HOW IT HAPPENED:
The Lobos threatened early in the top of the first when
Primo Vasquez,
Aaron Morales and
Carsen Thor recorded back-to-back-to-back singles to load up the bases.
Unfortunately, Sul Ross State wasn't able to get on the board.
Texas Lutheran scored in the bottom half of the first on a two-run home run.
The Bulldogs added three more runs in the second to extend their lead to 6-0.
Sul Ross State loaded up the bases in the sixth when Morales hit a one-out single. Thor followed up with another single and then
Keaton King drew a walk.
Peyten Kennard delivered a two-RBI single up the middle to make the score 7-2.
The Lobos picked up another run in the seventh on an RBI single by Vasquez who brought in
Estevan Ortiz.

- The Lobos tallied 11 hits.
- Morales went 3 for 4 with two singles, a double and a run scored.
- Thor recorded three singles to go 3 for 4 with a run scored.
- Vasquez finished 2 for 5 with two singles and an RBI.
- Lee Kubosh, Kennard and Ortiz all finished 1 for 4.
- The Lobo bullpen combined for nine strikeouts. Pete Ramos and Jacob Salinas each had three strikeouts.
