It's been a season of peaks and valleys for the Sul Ross State softball team.
On Friday afternoon, the Lobos split a doubleheader with the Concordia University Tornados at the Lobo Softball Field.
In Game 1, the Lobo offense erupted for a 13-4 victory in six innings.
It was a different story in Game 2 as the Tornados surged ahead for an 11-4 victory to even up the series.

Sul Ross trailed 2-0 heading into the bottom of the third.
The Lobos rallied for five runs in the third. It all started with the game-tying two-run home run by
Samantha Chavez.
Camryn Hardin then hit an RBI single down the right field line to give Sul Ross the 3-2 lead.
Veronica Rodriguez later delivered a two-RBI single to right center that made the score 5-2.
Sul Ross added another run in the fourth when
Annika Canaba drove in
Lisbeth Dominguez with a single to left center.
On five hits, the Lobos were able to rally for seven runs in the bottom of the sixth to enable the mercy rule.
After a leadoff walk by
Adriana Hernandez, Dominguez singled down the right field line as pinch-runner
Jenna Spencer advanced to third.
Elizabeth Clemente drove in a run with a ground out to short. Chavez then hit an RBI single to make the score 8-4.
Hardin delivered a clutch two-RBI double to left center to put the Lobos ahead by six runs.
Rodriguez put the cherry on top with a three-run home run to left to extend the lead to nine.
Driving in five runs, Rodriguez went 3 for 4 with two singles and a home run.
Canaba finished 3 for 4 with three singles and an RBI while Chavez tallied two singles and a home run to go 2 for 4 with three RBI.
Rodriguez and Chavez homered for the first time this season.
Hardin had a single, a double and three RBI to finish up going 2 for 4.
Dominguez tallied two singles to go 2 for 3 with two runs scored.
Leanza Chambers improved to 6-3 in the circle after she threw a complete-game five-hitter with two strikeouts.
Chambers is now 2-0 in her last two outings.

The Lobos took a 2-0 lead in the third after a two-RBI single by
Jaelyn Zuniga.
Concordia then flipped the script by scoring seven runs in the top of the fourth to take the 7-2 lead.
Sul Ross tacked on two runs in the bottom half of the fourth.
Clemente singled to start the inning and then
Claire Decker doubled to left center.
Kyndell Garcia then hit an RBI single to center.
Canaba later drove in Garcia with a single to left.
Sul Ross managed to out-hit the Tornados, 12-8.
Canaba went 2 for 4 with two singles, a stolen base and an RBI. She has a team-high 27 hits to go along with her team-leading .380 batting average.
Chavez and Hardin each went 2 for 3 with two singles and a walk.
Zuniga drove in two runs to go 2 for 4 with a pair of singles.
Nadia Valverde hit a single in the bottom of the first to finish 1 for 4.
Clemente and Garcia each finished 1 for 3 with a single while Decker had a double to also go 1 for 3.
Erin Trevino started the game, going 3.1 innings allowing three hits and four earned runs with two strikeouts.
Hunter Montes allowed one hit in 0.1 innings.
Briannah Mejias came in for relief throwing 1.2 innings allowing one earned run and two hits.
Madilyn Martinez threw the final 1.2 innings as she allowed two earned runs and three hits.
