For the second time this month, the Sul Ross State softball team has won another series.
On a picture-perfect Saturday afternoon at the Lobo Softball Field, the Lobos made quick work of the Concordia University Tornados with a 12-4 win in five innings.
The Lobos were able to take two out of three from the Tornados.

Sul Ross went up 2-0 in the first inning.
After back-to-back singles by
Samantha Chavez and
Annika Canaba,
Nadia Valverde drilled an RBI double to left center.
Camryn Hardin then drove in Canaba with a sacrifice fly to right.
Concordia came back to tie the game at 2-2 in the top of the second.
Behind a six-run rally in the bottom half of the second, the Lobos were able to regain the lead.
Adriana Hernandez started off the inning with a single to left center. With pinch runner
Hannah Clark now on first,
Lisbeth Dominguez moved the runner over with a sacrifice bunt.
Kyndell Garcia hit an infield single and later stole second to put runners in scoring position.
Chavez ripped a single through the left side to drive in a run. Canaba then hit a two-RBI single to left center.
Valverde hit another RBI double, this time down the right field line, to bring in Canaba.
The Lobos tacked on two more runs in the inning as Valverde scored on a passed ball and then
Veronica Rodriguez drove in Hardin with a groundout to short.
Concordia cut the deficit in half by pushing across two runs in the top of the third.
Sul Ross answered back by scoring four runs on five hits in the bottom of the third. Canaba hit an RBI double while Valverde came through with an RBI single.
Hardin then drove in a run with a groundout to second.
Jaelyn Zuniga later delivered a two-out RBI single to right center to drive in pinch-runner
Jenna Spencer, which made the score 12-4.
Four Lobos had a multi-hit afternoon.
Chavez finished 3 for 4 with three singles and an RBI while Canaba went a perfect 3 for 3 with two singles, a double and three RBI.
Valverde tallied a single, two doubles and three RBI to go 3 for 3.
Garcia hit a pair of singles to finish 2 for 3 with two runs scored. Hardin and Zuniga each went 1 for 2 with a combined three RBI.
Hernandez ended up going 1 for 3.
Leanza Chambers improved to 7-3 as she has now won her last three outings. Chambers pitched two innings allowing seven hits while she struck out two batters.
Briannah Mejias threw three scoreless innings while allowing just three hits as she fanned one batter.

- Chavez extended her hitting streak to 13 games.
- This was Canaba's 10th multi-hit game of the year. Canaba is 9 for 15 in her last four plate appearances with six RBI.
- Canaba is batting a team-high .405 with a team-leading 30 hits.
- Valverde now has a team-best seven doubles and 20 RBI.
- Valverde has a team-high .667 slugging percentage while she ranks second with a .391 batting average.
- Chavez went 7 for 11 during the series vs. Concordia with a home run and four RBI.
- Canaba finished 8 for 11 during the series vs. Concordia with a double and five RBI.
