The grind has begun.
American Southwest Conference soccer is in full swing.
The Sul Ross women were trying to win their fourth-straight match, which is their first winning streak since 2018.
On Thursday afternoon, the Lobos dropped a tough match to the University of Texas at Dallas, 3-1, at the Lobo Soccer Field.
Sul Ross scored three minutes into the match when
Aylin Pereyra found the back of the net. Pereyra now has a team-high four goals on the year.
The Comets answered back with a goal by Faith Autery in the 25th minute.
It was a physical match with plenty of high energy exhibited from both teams as the score remained deadlocked at 1-1 at the half.
Bella Granada broke the tie in the 71st minute during the second half. Lily Tanko added with an insurance goal to go ahead by two in the 89th minute.

Alitzel Ybarra had six saves in the net. The Lobos had eight shots on the goal, nine shots overall.
The Comets tallied 13 shots. Goalkeeper Jade Press had seven saves in the net.
